Today on the Bite Tonight: Calder Dairy.

Since we got a little taste of Spring yesterday, Josh and I decided to get ice cream. Lucky for us, the parlor was open @ Calder’s in Lincoln Park. Even though they only had limited flavors, we still enjoyed our visit. See how they ranked.

Atmosphere: 4 out of 5 bites

Price: 4 out of 5 bites

Quality/Taste: 4 out of 5 bites

Service: 3.5 out of 5 bites

Wow Factor: 2 out of 5 bites


Of course Josh had to get hot fudge on his (They were out of caramel).

Cookie Dough: Classic and delicious with big chunks of cookie dough! 

Maple: Sweet, rich, and buttery. This reminded me of butter pecan, but better!

Now, I tasted this vibrant flavor when my friend Kristin used to scoop ice cream about 7 years ago and fell in love.

Orange Pineapple: A refreshing, fruity, creamy marriage of sweet pineapple and subtle orange. Delicious!

Cookies & Cream (on the bottom): Classic blend of smooth cookies and cream. 



I remember my parents taking me up to Calder’s for ice cream as a little girl, and not much has changed. Everything is homemade and you can really taste the freshness. Visit the store in the front for fresh milk and cheese and the ice cream parlor in the back for a sweet treat. The ice cream is some of the best around and you can’t beat the price. Our double scoops added up to only $5 and some change. Stop in and try Calder’s as soon as it stops raining!
