Today on the Bite Tonight: Chili’s
On our way back from Grand Rapids, Josh and I stopped in to the Brighton location. Aside from having a pretty decent bar & grill menu, Chili’s has a new table kiosk that I just had to share with everyone. You can review your order, order more drinks, appetizers, and desserts, look up promotions and nutritional info, and even cash out and print your receipt. This blew my mind! See how they ranked.
Atmosphere: 3 out of 5 bites
Price: 3 out of 5 bites
Quality/Taste: 3 out of 5 bites
Service: 3 out of 5 bites
Wow Factor: 4 out of 5 bites
We started off with Skillet Queso: Portion was larger than normal, but a little on the salty side.
BBQ Crispy Chicken Crispers with a side of Southwestern Mac & Cheese. This is one of Josh’s favorites: Sweet and spicy boneless chicken tenders. The mac and cheese has a little kick to it as well. The order of fries was a little light and tasted too salty.
Chipotle Chicken Fresh Mex Bowl: Made with house-made corn & black bean salsa, rice & chipotle pesto. Topped with cheddar cheese, house-made pico de gallo, fresh field greens, chopped cilantro, crispy tortilla strips, fresh sliced avocado & a drizzle of cumin-lime sour cream. Very fresh with a little heat. The chicken was moist, the corn, black beans, and tortilla strips added texture and balance. The only thing that was a little off was the rice and greens. It tasted like a salad with buttered rice. Weird!
One thing that sets Chili’s apart from Applebee’s and TGI Friday’s is this convenient table kiosk. They may even have followed suit by now, but I’ve never seen it before and think it’s great! It can provide faster, appropriate service during the dinner rush. However, I can foresee this addition affecting server’s gratuity, customer’s tipping less because the kiosk tablet is doing half the work. Isn’t that just the futuristic world we are living in? Computers replacing humans? Regardless, stop into your neighborhood Chili’s and experience this amazing invention!
