Today on the Bite Tonight: Tuhama’s
My brother loves the shawarma’s at Tuhama’s so when he came back home to visit from Houston, we tried them out. Located on Warren in Dearborn, MI, Tuhama’s offers Middle Eastern favorites including sandwiches, kabobs, and more. Jay likes these shawarma’s because they are made with thick, chewy french bread versus the usual pita’s. Jay grabbed the food to go because as he describes it, Tuhama’s is a small place with not much seating. See how they ranked.

Lamb Shawarma: Sliced lamb topped with tomatoes, onions, pickled radish, and garlic sauce. The first thing I sank my teeth into was the slightly toasted on the outside, but chewy on the inside french bread. The lamb was tender and went great with the fresh veggies. I liked that the garlic sauce was subtle, not overpowering and the bread was the perfect tool to soak up it all up. The only thing I was missing was the pickles!
The portion size was generous for the price. The sandwich was a little sloppy, but that’s expected for ordering the food to go. My heart still belongs to Bucharest grill, but Tahama’s is serving up some solid Middle Eastern delights. Stop in and check em out!
