Bob Jo’s

A local favorite for years, Bob Jo’s has been serving up frozen custard since my mom was a little girl. Located on Fort St. in Wyandotte, MI., Bob Jo’s always serves up the classics; vanilla, chocolate, and twist frozen custard. They also have different flavors of frozen custard each day with an array of topping options, smoothies, and other creamy favorites. See how they ranked.

My Pick

Pistachio Frozen Custard: Creamy and rich frozen custard with a slight pistachio flavor. If you know my taste buds, then you know that I am a nut for pistachio (Fly Trap’s Pistachio Milkshake). This frozen custard was right up my alley! Frozen custard is richer, thicker, and more decadent than ice cream. It also doesn’t melt as fast as ice cream so we were able to sit out side the shop and enjoy our sweet treats before heading back home.

Ma’s Pick:

Vanilla Frozen Custard dipped in peanuts: Creamy and rich vanilla flavored frozen custard dipped in peanuts. My mom was really nostalgic and wanted a cone. The vanilla frozen custard was delicious and the peanuts just added an extra crunch to take this dairy dream to the next level.

Bob Jo’s always has a line to the street, but the girls do a great job at filling orders fast. When Ma and I first got there, we probably had 20 people in front of us, but we received our frozen custard in about 6 minutes. Dairy Queen could learn a thing or two from Bob Jo’s! There’s something about Bob Jo’s that takes you back to your childhood. It doesn’t matter if you’re 6, 18, or 59, indulging in frozen custard is sure to make you feel like a kid again.
