Our next stop on the Bite Tonight: The Squeaky Bean
Another place located in Lower Downtown Denver (LoDo) is the Squeaky Bean. Described as an eclectic, farm to table restaurant, the Squeaky Bean has an ever changing seasonal menu. We stopped in for Drag Queen Bingo (Saturday & Sunday, 12:30-2:00 P.M). See how they ranked.
Atmosphere: 3.5 out of 5 bites
Price: 3 out of 5 bites
Quality/Taste: 3.5 out of 5 bites
Service: 3.5 out of 5 bites
Wow Factor: 3 out of 5 bites (bingo and menu)
AP & B: Almond Butter and Preserves. The almond butter was a nice change from peanut butter, a little lighter and paired well with the preserves (apricot, I think). The bread was thick with a slight chew. Yum!
I won us a pitcher of Mimosas. Yes, please! BINGO!
Our drag queen, Venus and I.
Michelle glowing with her mimosa!
It was my first time playing Drag Queen Bingo, but it was a lot of fun. The prizes consist of mimosa, bottles of liquor, and a drag queen starter kit full of fake eyelashes and nail polish. My favorite part was winning one of the games and getting my picture taken with our hostess. The Squeaky Bean does a god job at hosting the games and making the experience a fun one. Venus, our drag queen did an amazing job at entertaining the players without making it too over the top and raunchy. The brunch menu is limited, but offers a good variety of small bites (Monkey Bread, remember that??), Eggs Benedict, and entrees such as Croque Madame (Ham, bechamel, provolone, and fried eggs) and Chocolate Buckwheat Flap Jacks. If you’re looking for an entertaining brunch, swing by the Squeaky Bean for Draq Queen Bingo. Good Luck!
