  3. Hi Jewell,

I’ve added a new feature so you can publish your blog posts on Urbanspoon yourself! Next time you post a review, give it a try. Here’s how:

    – Make sure you’re signed into Urbanspoon.
    – Go to your Urbanspoon blog page (not your user profile): http://www.urbanspoon.com/br/19/11909/Detroit/eatfooddetroit.html
    – Click “Edit blog settings”.
    – In the Pending Posts section, click “Edit and publish my pending posts”.
    – Then, enter the “snippet” text, verify the date and URL, and press Publish.

    Please make sure that:
    – The URL should be the permalink to the blog post (not the blog home page, a post preview, or a service like feedproxy).
    – The snippet should be 2-3 sentences (quoted from your blog post) that gives an idea of what’s in the post.
    – The snippet should NOT include bylines, dates, address info, captions, tags, HTML code, etc.

Note: there may be a delay of 1-2 hours after you post on your blog until our system detects the post.

We’ll give you one week to do it yourself, then it’ll go into our queue to publish.

Thank you for all of your contributions, and let us know if you have any questions.

    Greg

  4. What didn’t you like about Zef’s food? You explained that it was delicious and perfectly cooked…. What are the negatives? I work across the street and go there quite often. Ive always been pleased.

    1. Hi Gabriella,

Thank you for reading, it is appreciated. I love to hear the feedback from my audience. I reside in the Detroit area and don’t make it to Shelby often, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t make a trip. Plus, my BF and I love Italian and you probably know from reading, Italian restaurants our hit or miss for us. I refuse to believe that good Italian is hard to find. I would love to stop by!

  6. Hey Jewell,

I hope all is well and that you are having a great week so far! My name is Robert Greenfield, and I’m a senior at the University of Michigan in the College of Engineering. I follow your blog and love your posts, and was wondering if I could collaborate with you.

As a foodie myself, me and a few of my co-founders are developing a web and mobile application that can enable people to find places to eat and recipes based on their dietary lifestyle.

Outside of finding places to eat, the application will enable bloggers to share their diet-specific recipes on the platform, which would link back to the blogger’s site. We support Kosher, Halal, Gluten-Free, Nut-Free, Dairy-Free, Paleo, Vegan, Sugar-Free, Vegetarian, Local, and Health/Fitness diets so far. We currently support the Greater Detroit Area, Ann Arbor, NYC, and SF.

If your’e interested in testing the beta version and would love your feedback! Let me know your thoughts and thank you!

    Best,

    Robby

  8. Hi Jewell –
I’m working with a start-up for food bloggers in Michigan called Tabelog (www.tabelog.us). They’re a subsidiary of the largest company in Japan Tabelog.com (similar to Yelp here in the US).
We’re bringing their annual restaurant awards to the US that are judged solely by a panel of local food bloggers (all online). The winning restaurants get a framed 2015 award and the food bloggers get an ‘official judge’ icons/etc. and related PR for their blog. We’re looking for bloggers from the Michigan area to invite as an official judge. Is this something that you would be interested in?
    Thanks in advance!

  10. Hi Jewell,

I recently began working for a University of Michigan – Ann Arbor startup company called Forklore that is creating an online marketplace similar to Etsy, but for food! We are focusing heavily on small batch, gluten free, vegan, free-from food makers, and the story behind their creation.

We are looking to grow our user base, to get people into our website, so we can test out the idea and grow quicker. Currently we have three vendors, however, we are adding two new vendors this week and more in the upcoming weeks.

I think we could benefit from a partnership, where we can give you products sold in our website, or articles, videos, and pictures for your blog. In return you just have to mention our name and our website (https://eatforklore.com).

Hope to hear from you soon!
